A Lunar New Year primer

The 12 Lunar New Year zodiac signs are Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig… and, of course, the beloved Cat in Vietnamese-Asian culture.

The words “māo” and “mèo” is Vietnamese and Chinese, respectively, for “cat.” It’s also an ancient word in Chinese associated with the rabbit.
