I agree that thoughtful, actionable feedback is a manager's responsibility concerning the team they support... but I don't agree that framing it as a gift is bad advice. Consider the feedback we give upward to our leaders or across the aisle to our XFN partners. "Feedback is a gift" could be seen as a means to ensure you're in the right head and heart for meaningful feedback conversations.
